Creativity has no boundaries! You can make art anywhere with materials you already have. Draw, paint, print, collage, sculpt, build, and invent- have fun and do your best. We have practiced the techniques at school, now apply your skill at home. Here are some ideas to begin, start with one project a week and go from there.

  • Draw a picture from imagination.
  • Create a still life- arrange your favorite toys or belongings in front of you, look closely and draw what you see.
  • Draw a picture that tells a story.
  • Make a self-portrait.
  • Draw a picture of your family.
  • Collaborate with a family member- make artwork together.
  • Make up a game, play it with your family.
  • Make a sculpture.
  • Make a collage using five or more shapes.
  • Make a mixed-media artwork (use more than one material).
  • What can you make? Make up your own art project!

When you complete a work of art, save it and take a picture of it- send it to me and
I will share it on our online gallery.

Hello from the studio at Jacob G. Smith Elementary School! My name is Jillian Luse and I work with emerging artists in kindergarten through fifth grade. This is our online gallery, a space to share what we learn and create.
